To Honour Our Wonderful Mothers...

One of the most touching photo shoots I have been a part of was with my sweet friend Carolyn and her sister. They asked me to take photos of themselves with their mom who was nearing the end of her fight with cancer. It was January of last year and Joan passed away the next month. To know how much Carolyn and her sister treasure these photographs means the absolute world to me. This is what we created...

A year has passed since then, and it was on February 2nd of this year that I, and my three siblings, lost our mom to cancer. The memories of Mom are vivid and clear and beautiful, but I wish so much I had that one photo of her and me as an adult that I will treasure forever. I was always on the other side of the camera (!!) and she was one to let the spotlight shine on others.

It is in honour of Mom, and all the other amazing mothers who are still with us or are watching us from another place, that I want to share this contest with you. It's a way to celebrate your relationship and create a special memory between you and your mother, as it is one of the strongest bonds we know.

Write me a note on why your mom is so special. I will be picking the one that touches me the most. The winner will receive a free photo session (it can be with your mom or anyone else who is special to you) and I will be putting all proceeds from the print order towards colon cancer research. Sneak Peak

This week could be called "Kids on the Move". This little girl wasn't yet walking but she didn't stay still for more than a half a second at most. Busy busy! Although she was on the go, it was a completely relaxed session and I had great fun just chatting with mom and dad and capturing this sweetheart's personality. Look at those eyes... what a sweetie!

On The Move!!

This little girl was ON THE MOVE during our entire photo shoot! She is 13 months old, recently learned to walk and is taking full advantage of her new-found form of transport. Mom, Dad and I were all very busy following her around whether it was rocking on her fun horse, discovering the CD player, unravelling toilet paper, or playing outside. Thanks for a very fun shoot -- your gallery will be ready soon!

This little girl is an absolute treasure to photograph. I was lucky enough to do her newborn photos and here she is six months later. Is she not the most precious little thing??!?!

The Latest of Hailey and Reuben

Here are a couple recent photos of our two kids, 6-week old Reuben and 2 year old Hailey.

This is a typical look of Hailey with her crazy cave-woman hair! And I just love this t-shirt Reuben got as a welcome gift from some great friends of ours. And now that he is smiling up a storm, I don't doubt those chicks are diggin' him!

Maternity Shoot

I've been doing a lot of maternity shoots lately and it is so fun sharing this exciting time with the mom&dad-to-be!!

Here are a couple shots from my latest maternity shoot. The three (well, four!) of us had a lot of fun creating natural, relaxed images to preserve this special time. I can't wait to meet the little one when he arrives!

So Sweet

This little eight day old was such a sweetheart to photograph. The adoration and love from mom and dad just shone through the entire shoot. What a wonderful family.

Little "N" just loved sucking on her mom's finger!! There was a good stretch there when she just wouldn't let go! We had to count '1, 2, 3' and mom would slip her finger out and I'd take a quick shot before she asked for it again!!!
